Notorious pal issues fight warning
CONOR Mcgregor will knock out Khabib Nurmagomedov in under a minute, according to the Notorious’ teammate.
James Gallagher has backed the Dubliner, 30, to end the fight, his first in the UFC in almost two years, inside the opening round.
He told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “I can see Khabib getting stiffened inside 30 seconds to one minute.
“Conor is hungrier than ever. Everyone in the Straight Blast Gym is hungry to make history. He’s out to prove everyone who believed in him right.
“And he’s going to prove those people right. He’s got a work ethic like nobody else. He’s going to bring the title back home to Dublin again and make this whole country proud of him again.”
Gallagher, 21, added there is a ‘nothing to lose’ attitude within John Kavanagh’s gym that allows their fighters to be as confident as they are.
He said: “It’s fighting and we want to test ourselves against the best.
“I believe that I am, and I want to prove it to myself, that I’m the best in the world. And if I go in there and I get proved wrong then I’ll go back and figure out where I went wrong, I’ll fix it and improve until I am the best.”
Meanwhile, an online video appears to show Khabib paying homeless people money to do pressups on a Moscow street.
The post seems to show his cousin teasing two homeless men with the promise of money as the person filming the incident is heard chuckling.
At one point he holds a bill out towards one of the men and snatches it away as the man reaches out – and then demands he do more exercise to earn it. MMA fighter Oleg Taktarov lashed Khabib and says he refuses to speak to him over the incident. But Khabib’s father claimed his son has known the man for three years. He added: “He has been communicating with this vagrant for three years, and each time received something. My guys tell him every time he should buckle down and begin to do sports, and he asks for money in return.”
