Omagh bomb victim Claire ‘no grudges’

-

A WOMAN blinded in the 1998 Omagh bomb has revealed she is “not bitter” at those responsible.

Claire Bowes was 15 when the Real IRA explosion ripped through her home town, killing 29 people and unborn twins.

The mother of three admitted she tries not to dwell on it ahead of Wednesday’s 20th anniversary of the atrocity.

On telling the story to her sons, she said: “I always try to put a positive slant on it. I couldn’t be bitter.

“If I let the negativity consume my life, I couldn’t move on.

“I hold no grudges and just try to make the best of this life I’ve been given.”
