Tickets cost a Lotto more

Punters face price hike but Plus 1 prize to rise from €500k to €1m

Canadian-owned Premier Lotteries Ireland said they are bringing the prize for Plus 1 from €500,000 to €1million and they are going to add in extra prizes.

National Lottery spokeswoma­n Miriam Donohoe said there will be “more winners and millionair­es” as a Leo Varadkar at Hurley Brothers Sandwich Bar in Drogheda yesterday With Mayor Frank Godfrey and Hurley team Anna Mary Donaghy and Bill Tracey result of the changes. She added: “The main Lotto draw is not going up in price. The Lotto Plus is increasing in price and it’s the first increase in 16 years.

“We’re delighted to be announcing exciting new enhancemen­ts to the Lotto game that we are not due to officially launch for two weeks, but they will kick in on September 1. “Lotto with Lotto Plus will increase from €5 to €6 but if you want to play Lotto on its own there’s no increase. “There will be other game improvemen­ts that we’ll also be announcing in a couple of weeks time.” Main draw players will be unaffected as it’s set to stay at €4 for two lines. Around 30% of the proceeds the National Lottery makes on tickets goes to good causes. news@irishmirro­r.ie
