Viewers in morning over Virgin move for Tommy
Martin TOMMY Martin said his last goodbye to viewers yesterday after he announced his shock departure from his morning shows.
The TV3 star has quit Saturday and Sunday AM to focus on his new presenting gig on Virgin Media Sport.
The broadcaster from Ballymount, South Dublin, first joined the line-up alongside Anna Daly, Laura Woods and Simon Delaney when the show launched in 2015.
However, he dealt a blow to fans of the programme with his latest news.
Tommy said: “As mentioned on this morning’s show to great national mourning, I’m stepping away from Saturday AM & @Sunday AM after next weekend to focus on presenting live football on Virgin Media TV [the new name for TV3] and new Virgin Sport channel, which I’m looking forward to.
“After three brilliant years, with a ridiculous amount of craic, I will really miss the team and viewers. It’s been a great show to work on, especially the beer tasting.”
Last month, it was revealed TV3 was changing its name to Virgin Media Television after 20 years on air and their new sports channel, Virgin Sport, as part of its new plans.
