15 eagles are saved from sheds blaze
FIREFIGHTERS saved 15 golden eagles from a blaze early yesterday.
The huge birds of prey were caged in sheds that caught alight in Longparish, Hants.
Twenty firefighters took 45 minutes to get the fire under control, using fans to blow the smoke away from the eagles.
The owner, who asked not to be named, said: “The birds are fine. Everything is fine.
“We are not homeless. We live down here because we want to stay private.”
It is thought the blaze was started by a woodburner.
