Peak plunge woman was high on drug
A WOMAN found dead on a 3,284ft mountain may have fallen because she tried to climb while high on the drug speed.
An inquest heard Claire Beer, 43, was alone when last seen on Glyder Fawr in Snowdonia and may have been using amphetamines to improve performance.
A coastguard helicopter spotted her below cliffs.
Her last text message read: “I am only 500 metres from the summit.”
Caernarfon coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said tests showed Mrs Beer, from Swansea, had a high level of amphetamine.
He said: “It would have increased her ability to do more than normal.
“But it brings a degree of recklessness and a reduced awareness of risks.”
Verdict: Accident.
