Cottagers sure Jok’s all theirs

- BY TOM HOPKINSON

FULHAM are confident manager Slavisa Jokanovic will sign a new long-term deal before the end of the month.

The Serb is understood to have been on Leicester’s radar, alongside Roberto Martinez, should Claude Puel get the axe anytime soon.

He was also considered by Chelsea, where he played, in the summer when Antonio Conte was axed and by Swansea last season when Paul Clement was fired.

But the Cottagers backed their boss heavily in the transfer window after he guided them to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, with £100million spent on shaping his squad for the top flight.

And having done so Fulham owner Shahid Khan and chief executive Alastair Macintosh are keen to extend his stay in west London.

Providing Jokanovic does sign the contract then the terms on offer at Craven Cottage will put him in the top 10 best-paid managers in England.
