‘Suicidal’ to sell Pogba to Barca

- BY JOHN RICHARDSON

SELLING Paul Pogba to Barcelona “would be suicidal” for Manchester United, says Mickey Thomas. Pogba (left) and boss Jose Mourinho’s relationship is said to have broken down and Barcelona are closing in on the France World Cup winner. Former United star Thomas – a regular pundit for the club’s in-house MUTV – said: “If there’s such a huge problem, why did Jose make him captain against Leicester? It would be suicidal now to sell him, especially when United obviously didn’t get who they really wanted in the summer transfer window.

“He’s just had a fantastic World Cup so why would they want to offload him? It’s up to Jose and Pogba to sort this out. I think there is some mischief-making going on.

“Someone is indicating to the big European clubs, like Barcelona, that he is available. Put in a big bid and you can get him.

“His agent (Mino Raiola) is a busy so-and-so and I wouldn’t mind guessing he has got something to do with it.”
