CITY ARE RICH... BUT THEY CAN’T BUY ‘CLASS’
Jose slams champions’ documentary
JOSE MOURINHO has slammed Manchester City and claimed the champions have money, but no “class” after the release of their £10million Amazon documentary.
Mourinho and Manchester United are featured in the fly-on-the-wall series ‘All or Nothing’ documenting City’s Premier League and Carabao Cup double – and it’s left the Old Trafford boss fuming. “I haven’t seen
it, but I know a few things about the movie,” said Mourinho.
“You don’t need to be disrespectful to have a fantastic movie. You can be a rich club and buy the best players in the world, but you cannot buy class and they showed that clearly, that was really obvious.”
The United chief, who features more than once in the documentary, believes he has been deliberately targeted and ridiculed for selling Kevin De Bruyne when he was Chelsea manager.
And he’s angry at a dig discrediting his style of football, described by actor and voice-over narrator Ben Kingsley as “park the bus”. The second episode of the eightparter features City’s win at Old Trafford in December, with the narration: “It’s Guardiola versus Mourinho once more; possession versus defence; attacking football versus ‘parkthe-bus’.”
The same episode later shows City fans chanting “park the bus”, intercut with clips of Mourinho in his post-match press conference, dismissively responding to questions about possession stats.
City, however, claim they had no control over the final edit of what went in the documentary.
