Online praise over ‘special’ Croker event

THE Croke Park event drew warm praise on social media as the spectacle unfolded.

TV3’S Deric O hartagain tweeted: “Evening in with the Pope. Great multicultural spectacle in Croke Park.

“Regardless of opinion; Ireland is flying the flag proudly on the world stage today.”

Marty Morrissey, who is more accustomed to commentating on GAA clashes at Croker, wrote: “Special Moments in Croke Park!

“But as Darkness falls... The Stadium is filled with Light!!”

One joker however asked if “anyone is going to sing in tune at Croke Park tonight”.

Another wag wrote: “There hasn’t been as much praying at Croke Park since... well since Joe Canning stood over that free last weekend.”
