Talk TV On the Eve of HERO OF THE WEEK thriller hitting small screen

-

RTE will be the first to show thriller series

this side of the water as news of the hit BBC America show getting a second season emerges. It follows desk-bound MI5 officer Eva Polastri (Sandra Oh, below) as she begins to track assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and they become obsessed with each other. A night at the opera ends with Villanelle stabbing a mafia godfather in the brain with a poison-tipped hairpin. His bodyguards get two bullets to the head for objecting. She flees on a motorbike driven by a rival mafioso with whom she has sex before threatening to kill him and then setting fire to her knickers, dress and wig. As you do. Killing Eve starts with a double bill on RTE Two tomorrow at 9.30pm. Celebrity Big Brother might be coming to an end but it still manages to deliver the goods. So far we’ve had caustic Natalie Nunn goading anyone who takes the bait into a cat fight, Roxanne Pallet’s OTT acting and Gabby Allen’s crocodile tears. And Human Ken doll Rodrigo Alves was removed from the show yesterday over his behaviour. Kirstie Allie and rogue trader Nick Leeson could teach the rest of them a thing or two about “keeping it real”.
