LIAM AIM ONLY ON THIS BIG GAME

- BY PAUL KEANE

LIAM CAHILL wants to bow out on a historic high if this is his last game in charge of the Tipperary. The Premier chief is strongly linked with the senior job surprisingly vacated by Michael Ryan and has refused to rule it out. Indeed, Cahill (left) said if he is approached after the underage decider he will ‘give consideration’ to any offer.

An All-ireland U-21 success would naturally strengthen his position though he’s aware of the ability of a slick Cork side they have already lost to this season.

Cahill said: “Cork have ferocious pace. It’s going to be a massive task for us to stem that, their ability to get on to breaking ball and their ability to go by the tackle. They have some powerful, big men that are able to run in straight lines and run the channels where they can create goal chances.

“If we lose our concentration for even a split second we will be punished. The match-ups will be a big defining factor for us and for our management team to get that right.”
