Gerrard’s cool over Old Firm

Motherwell v Rangers Today, KO 12.15pm

STEVEN GERRARD says Rangers could LOSE all four Old Firm derbies to Celtic and still win the Premiership title.

As the Ibrox gaffer (above) prepares for the biggest week of his managerial career, he’s refusing to think about the first clash with Brendan Rodgers’ side next Sunday.

Before that, Gers must negotiate today’s league game at Motherwell, followed by a Europa League play-off second leg against FC Ufa in Russia on Thursday night.

Gerrard said: “I haven’t even thought about the Old Firm game – I’m not obsessed with Celtic.

“I’m obsessed with being successful as the Rangers manager. I could lose every Old Firm game and still win the league.”

And Gerrard revealed he won’t rest anyone in their Europa League tie, ahead of the Celtic game.

He said: “When you sit down with the players, they all want European football and big games.

“We have three huge ones this week.

“So the players are getting what they want.

“Will I prioritise? Yes, right now Motherwell is the most important.”
