New demo in anti-migrant stab riot city
THOUSANDS of far-right protesters marched yesterday through a city in eastern Germany where a German man was stabbed to death a week ago.
Leaders of Germany’s Alternative for Germany party and a group called Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West wore dark suits as they began what they called a “mourning march”.
Several thousand people followed behind them in the city of Chemnitz waving German flags and posters of alleged victims of migrant violence.
A huge police presence lined the streets as an earlier counter-protest drew about 2,000.
A 22-year-old Iraqi man and 23-year-old Syrian have been charged with manslaughter.
