Anti-eu party launched

-

MORE than 400 people gathered at the first meeting of a controversial new political party yesterday.

Irexit, who are anti-eu, packed backers into the Bonnington Hotel in North Dublin. The party hopes to put forward candidates in next year’s European Parliament elections and Ireland’s general election in 2021.

Founder Hermann Kelly compared the EU to a “colonial master”.

CONTROVERSIAL political party Irexit held its first meeting yesterday in Dublin.

But is this really the time for an anti-eu party to start out? The latest Red C poll showed 76% agreed Ireland should stay in the EU.

Do we not have enough headaches already without throwing this party into the mix?

Its leader Hermann Kelly said this week the EU and Europhile parties would be “throwing dung” at them but “when you plant a seed and you throw dung, hopefully it is going to grow into something”.

Maybe the “dung” from the EU is being thrown at them in a bid to make them go away, not grow.
