Protests over nursing crisis

NURSES are to protest outside hospitals over staffing shortages and overcrowding at emergency departments.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation were told on Friday there is no ED plan for winter, and that 169 jobs have not been filled despite funding being in place.

The rallies will be at Galway University Hospital on Monday, then Cork University Hospital and Limerick University Hospital on Tuesday.
