Fisherman is injured after 16ft cliffs fall
A FISHERMAN had to be rescued yesterday after he fell 16ft from a cliff.
The alarm was raised at around 1am when emergency services received a report of a person being injured near Black Head, Co Clare.
Crews rushed to the scene while the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard was also tasked.
Teams found a group of foreign nationals had been night fishing from rocks.
One of the group fell around 16ft from a cliff above the location from where they had been fishing.
The man was flown by helicopter to University Hospital Galway.
He is understood to have suffered head, back and chest injuries.
