Spurs’ Inter boost

-

INTER MILAN slumped to a 1-0 defeat at newlypromoted Parma in Serie A.

The Italian giants, who face Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday, were beaten by a long-range strike from Federico Dimarco.

Inter, with only one win in their opening four games, dominated the game and let numerous chances go begging before being punished by a player they loaned to Parma a month ago.

The 20-year-old (below) won the ball in midfield and then beat Samir Handanovic with a 25-metre shot that swerved, dipped and went in off the underside of the bar for his first-ever Serie A goal, giving Parma their first win since returning to the top flight.

Nabil Fekir was on the scoresheet as Lyon were held by nine-man Caen in Ligue 1.

Fekir, who saw a move to Liverpool collapse in the summer, fired Lyon ahead before two goals and two red cards for the hosts. Ferland Mendy rescued a point for the visitors who face Manchester City in Europe on Wednesday.

Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele scored as Barcelona extended their 100 per cent start to the season by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Real Sociedad.

Having fallen behind in the 12th minute via Aritz Elustondo’s strike, Barca turned things around in the second half, Suarez converting from close range in the 63rd minute and Dembele adding a deflected finish three minutes later.
