The National Olympic Committee has drawn up a name and logo.

The Olympic Council of Ireland will now be called the Olympic Federation of Ireland in the shake-up.

A modernised crest will be sported by the Team Ireland athletes at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires next month.

The athletes will be the first to sport the new logo in Argentina from October 6 to 18.

It proved a hit with karate player Sean Mccarthy, gymnast Emma Slevin and boxer Dean Clancy, below, at the Irish Institute of Sport in Abbotstown, Dublin.
