PARTY OF THE WEEK
Former Eastenders actress Rita
Simons has revealed she wants to direct her next flick.
Rita, 41, who played Roxy Mitchell and now stars in gangster film The Krays: Dead Man Walking, tells me: “I’m really keen to do it and its something I’ve been eyeing up for a while now.”
She partied at film’s premiere in London last week with co-star
Janine Nerissa. And Krays producer Jonathan Sothcott reckons Rita “would be a natural director” having worked for a decade on Albert Square. Get in.
“Apparently Mark Wahlberg gets up before he goes to bed, does 250,000 star jumps, eats a baked bean for dinner and then runs up a wall.” Life according to Matt Lucas.
Have you ever spotted rubbish in some of the art world’s most iconic paintings? I mean, probably. But this week, artist Paul Karslake has re-created some of Picasso, Monet and Rothko’s masterpieces using plastic waste at London’s After Nyne Gallery. Bizarrely brilliant.
