Train delays as cattle hit

A RAIL service was suspended for hours yesterday after a train collided with a herd of cattle.

The incident happened at 11am on the Waterford to Dublin line at Thomastown in Kilkenny.

It’s understood no passengers were injured in the incident.

An Irish Rail spokesman said: “Bus transfers will be in operation between Kilkenny and Waterford for all services until further notice.”
