RICHARD Madden, who has left millions of viewers shaken and stirred in Bodyguard, wants to be James Bond.

The heartthrob’s desire to take over as 007 from Daniel Craig was revealed by his dad.

Madden, 32, is likely to strengthen his case for playing Bond with tonight’s gripping final episode of the BBC One thriller Bodyguard.

He is certainly in demand after his role as David Budd, the personal protection officer of Home Secretary Julia Montague, played by Keeley Hawes. Madden has won rave reviews for his performance.

Dad Richard Sr said playing the spy is on his son’s wish list. He said: “I’m quite sure he does want that to be on his CV one day but he’s not making a song and dance about it. Whether it’s Bond or any big role, Richard has ideas about things he’d like to do.

Madden starred as Robb Stark in the fantasy epic Game of Thrones. His dad was shocked by the character’s bloody end.

Richard added: “It’s not all been plain sailing. He’s had disappointments.”

This week US director Cary Fukunaga replaced Brit Danny Boyle at the helm of the 25th Bond, now slated for a 2021 release.

The True Detective director is friends with Idris Elba, who many tip to replace Craig.
