RTE legend Bunny Carr, 91, is laid to rest

- BY EMMA MCMENAMY

MOURNERS gathered to pay their respects to “kind and generous” RTE legend Bunny Carr at his funeral yesterday. The 91-year-old, who was best-known for hosting HOST Bunny Carr Quicksilver, died peacefully on Wednesday.

The packed congregation at St Fintan’s Church in Sutton, Co Dublin – which included PR consultant Terry Prone and her son Anton Savage and presidential candidate Gavin Duffy – heard about the father-of-three’s love of broadcasting, sport and his family.

His son Alan said: “Bunny’s story is a story of an ordinary man who lived an extraordinary life.

“It’s a story of a man who lost his father early in life and made his own way in the world. But most of

all, it’s a love story. It’s a story of a man whose wife survived polio and a man who treasured every moment of their lives together.

“Most of all it’s a love story about Bunny and Joan who are together again now. Thank you for helping us celebrate Bunny’s life.”
