Sun to return after storms wreak havoc

- BY JOHN PATRICK KIERANS

IRELAND is expected to see a dry and sunny week as the nation misses the brunt of Storm Callum.

Experts say it will avoid most of the country but will still badly affect parts of the UK.

It’s a relief for the public who have dealt with both storms Ali and Bronagh in the last few days, the first of which claimed two lives.

But now high pressure will prevail for most of next week bringing dry and more settled weather.

A Met Eireann spokesman said: “Both Monday and Tuesday will be fine and dry days with varying cloud and sunny spells.

“Daytime temperatures however will be on the cool side – typically in the low to mid-teens.”
