Aras probe as ‘intruder gets in Pres office’
A MAJOR Garda investigation is under way after a protester reportedly broke into Aras An Uachtarain.
The incident occurred when a woman managed to get into an office to confront Michael D Higgins.
A Garda spokesman said: “A chief supt is conducting a review of security measures and another chief supt is investigating the incident.”
The incident happened when a middle-aged woman drove into the grounds in the Phoenix Park before walking into an office where Mr Higgins was working.
The woman was not arrested and was allowed leave as the President did not wish to take the matter further.
