10% smoking in five years

Only one in 10 of us will smoke by 2023, health officials claim.

Public Health England said the number of smokers has fallen by one million since 2014.

If the trend continues, the percentage of adults smoking tobacco would drop from 15 to 10 in five years. There are 6.1 million smokers in England plus 3.2 million who use e-cigs.
