demise was another homicide highlight – she might not have bled to death if Wayne Molloy had rang an ambulance instead of trying to get her to hospital himself.

We’ve had some memorable exits including death by electrocution, ecstasy pill, hurricane, fire, or plain old bloody murder. Christy Phelan died a lonely death when he had a heart attack at home in 2014, shortly after suffering a stroke. In 2013 Mr Aoife is horrified by Kerri-ann’s betrayal Marty Morrissey and Aine Lawlor Nasty Paddy Bishop was dispensed in brutal fashion when he was stabbed in a scuffle with his daughter Charlotte. Luckless Sarah O’leary was killed by her friend, teacher Barry O’hanlon, in a freak accident involving a door in 2011. He tried to hide her corpse but was caught. This wasn’t the first death caused by Barry. In 2007 he drunk drove into Gina Cassidy during her wedding to Ray O’connell leaving her dead outside the church. Resident alcoholic Annette Daly died in a fire in 2009. Her business partner Bill died in hospital after the same blaze. Unlucky-in-love businessman Mike Gleeson owned The Bistro and he died there in 2008 when loose wires caused him to be electrocuted. Dolores’ daughter Lorraine Molloy was killed off-screen by a hurricane in Florida while on her honeymoon.

In one of the most heartbreaking storylines her other daughter, threeyear-old Jessica, ate an ecstasy pill she found and overdosed in 2005.

Her shock death led to another murder when Dolores’ first husband Harry Molloy beat Ross the babysitter to death before fleeing. Domestic violence sufferer Tess Halpin was strangled to death by her husband Marty in 2003. He then took his own life.

Mechanic Michael O’brien was accidentally killed by his dad after he shoved him out of the way and he banged his head.

Perhaps the most infamous murder in the soap was when gangster Billy Meehan was battered to death with his own golf club by his wife Carol’s son Lorcan Foley.

In scenes that shocked viewers in 2001 Lorcan killed him to protect his mother after taxi driver Leo had nearly beaten evil Billy to death.
