RED ROBBO FEELS SO FOUR-MIDABLE

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

LIVERPOOL defender Andy Robertson has dismissed suggestions that the pressure to deliver trophies will get to Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The Reds have got off to a lightning start in the Premier League as they look to end Anfield’s 28-year wait for the title. And Roberto Firmino’s late goal against Paris Saint-germain on Tuesday meant last season’s beaten Champions League finalists began the new European campaign on a winning note.

But Robertson (right) said: “I know the fans are optimistic but the players and staff are keeping their feet on the ground. You don’t win anything in August or September. We have done nothing yet except win a couple of games.

“We have some momentum behind us but we can’t afford to let that drop.

“We believe we can win every game because we can cause teams problems, though when we are not at 100 per cent we struggle. “But I’ve not been in a team this confident since the under-fives! “All the lads have that confidence but it is about showing it in the right way.” Last season Klopp sacrificed the domestic knock-out competitions as his team looked to finish in the top four and attacked the Champions League. But a tilt at all four trophies is on the cards this time around.

Robertson said: “I agree with the manager – whatever competition it is we’ll do our best and see where we are at the end of the season.”
