Canaries Finnish it all off

- By JACK LANG at Loftus Road

IT’S appropriate Teemu Pukki is Finnish, because the striker certainly knows his way to goal.

The Norwich hitman scored for the third game in a row, ending QPR’S upward surge in a match played at semi-scandinavian temperatures.

The visitors dominated and could have scored two or three by the time Pukki popped up with a late winner. And the Finn then departed to an ovation from the away fans, delighted to see their side climb into the top half.

Daniel Farke named an unchanged side and was rewarded with a first-half display of some craft. Alexander Tettey and Moritz Leitner dominated midfield, and it was only some wayward finishing that spared Rangers.

Marco Stiepermann was the guiltiest party, twice firing straight at Joe Lumley.

Rangers were quaking, but striker Tomer Hemed was at least prepared to make his presence felt. The Israeli left Timm Klose with a bloody nose after one aerial challenge.

Norwich continued to boss possession in the second half and the goal finally arrived.

Stiepermann was the provider, whipping in a low cross that clipped Rangers defender Toni Leistner and span towards the six-yard line, where Pukki gratefully bundled home.
