- BY EMMA COSTELLO

John and Bernadette AN Irish couple have finally had their happy ending after Storm Emma prevented them from marrying.

John Phelan, from Tipperary, and Bernadette Doherty, from Belfast, were set to tie the knot on March 2.

However their ceremony at the Naas registry office in Co Kildare was put on hold because of the snow.

However, earlier this month they flew to Dubrovnik in Croatia and became man and wife under the sun.

John said: “It was like I had finally found a jigsaw piece that I’d been looking for all my life, and we got to hold a huge party with our closest friends and family to place it in the big picture.”
