CLOONEY IN PARDON CALL FOR MASSACRE REPORTERS
AMAL Clooney has called for pardons in the cases of two reporters jailed in Burma for reporting on a massacre of Rohingya Muslims.
The human rights lawyer is representing Reuters journalists Kyaw Soe Oo and Wa Lone.
The pair were sentenced to hard labour after uncovering extra-judicial killings.
About 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to Bangladesh to escape a bloody military crackdown in Buddhistmajority Burma. Amal, who is married to Hollywood A-lister George Clooney, called on Burmese leader and Nobel Peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi to grant the men pardons. She said: “They had documents planted on them, the whole trial was a charade. They were investigating and reporting on a massacre of Rohingya men.” Amal Clooney
