US to move Iraq offices

THE US plans to close its consulate in southern Iraq due to dangers from Iran’s meddling, it was claimed.

The Americans blamed their longtime foe of inducing violence in the city of Basra.

Now military action from Iran threatens the safety of US officials in the area, Washington said.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said everyone but emergency staff will be located to the capital of Baghdad.
