I have an early copy of Enid Blyton’s book Five Go Down To the Sea. It is from 1953 and in very good condition given its age. Alex Burton, Brighton By golly, Alex, that’s a frightfully exciting item you have on your hands there! And, cripes, blow me if it isn’t worth in the region of €200. Blyton left a huge impact on children with 700 books and worldwide sales topping 400 million. Famous Five books one to seven are the really valuable ones. And rare copies from her Adventure series – including first editions of The Island of Adventure – can fetch over €1,000 in good shape. An early book, with its wrapper, from any of the popular series should always be snapped up if offered on the cheap.
