Only a Maniac would miss out on sci-fi series

If the sound of a sci-fi series with an edge appeals to you then you should check out Netflix’s Jonah Hill and Emma Stone lead an A-list cast, with support from Gabriel Byrne and Sally Field, as they navigate their way through a New York set in the near future. Here the skyline is dominated by a Statue of Extra Liberty, rents are almost 90 per cent of annual income, and most people have to earn extra by offering their services as fake husbands, friend proxies, or take part in risky drug trials. This slow, dark comedy is curious to say the least, but it’s well worth a watch.
