Mayo clubs slam board
MAYO County Board have refused to comment on the controversy arising after JP Mcmanus’ donation this week.
The Limerick businessman gave every county board in Ireland €100,000 to be shared equally among their clubs but two Mayo hurling clubs - Ballyvary and Caiseal Gaels - have said they have been excluded.
Ballyvary noted in a statement that the other 48 clubs in Mayo had been notified on Thursday that they would each be receiving a sum of €2,083.34. Both Ballyvary and Caiseal Gaels only field teams up to U21 level.
