Reed falls shh-ort as fans boo

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

PATRICK REED was trolled by Francesco Molinari’s brother yesterday after getting shushed by the Paris crowd – and losing both his matches.

The self-styled Captain America was the best player in the last two Ryder Cups.

But the Masters champion failed to fire in both of his defeats with Tiger Woods — and did not hit a fairway until the ninth in yesterday’s fourballs.

When Reed then rolled in his first birdie putt to halve the hole, he put his finger to his lips to big boos.

And after he missed a putt on 11, he was cheekily shushed by Europeans fans.

Edoardo Molinari, who played on the 2010 European Ryder Cup team with his brother, tweeted: “Captain America must have no passport! No sights of him in Paris!”

Wildcard Phil Mickelson did not play yesterday after his heavy defeat in the foursomes on Friday.

The American, who is playing in a record 12th Ryder Cup, set a new American high of 21 losses to equal the all-time record held by Neil Coles before today’s singles.
