Man charged over Trump poison letter
A US Navy veteran has been charged after a letter laced with poison was sent to Donald Trump.
William Clyde Allen III was charged with threatening to use a biological toxin as a weapon by sending notes to the US President containing ground castor beans.
FBI officials said the 39-year-old told investigators he wanted the letters to “send a message” though he did not elaborate.
Allen also said he sent similar letters to Queen Elizabeth, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the secretary of the US Air Force.
He was traced after his return address was found on the envelopes which contained the substance.
