Pier service for 3 killed in sea tragedy
A PRAYER service was held yesterday for the three tragic Latvian friends who lost their lives while fishing in south Kerry last Sunday.
The widow of 38-yearold Valerijs Klimentengvs, Inga Peremitina, and their two-year-old son Daniel were among the many who gathered on the Coonanna pier.
Also lost were his two friends – 30-year-old Jurijs Burcves and Anatolijs Teivens, 57.
Parish Priest Father Larry Kelly said the men came to the pier “as they did on many occasions to spend a few happy hours together fishing”.
The investigation into the deaths by the Marine Casualty Investigation Board is ongoing.
