Interpol rap at China over missing boss
Hongwei INTERPOL chiefs have told China to reveal the whereabouts of missing boss Meng Hongwei.
The 64-year-old has not been seen since he was reportedly “taken away” for questioning during a visit to his homeland.
Mr Meng is based in Lyon, France. His wife has not seen or heard from him for 10 days and she told police of threats via social media and by phone.
Interpol yesterday tweeted that the agency “has requested clarification from China on the status of Meng Hongwei... to address concerns over the president’s wellbeing”.
The French interior ministry said: “France is puzzled about Interpol’s president and concerned about threats to his wife.”
