2,000 honour organ donors

MORE than 2,000 people attended a service to commemorate organ donors yesterday.

The service, held in Corpus Christi Church on the Homefarm Road, North Dublin, paid tribute to the families of donors and the recipients.

Broadcaster Claire Byrne was invited to begin the symbolic Ceremony Of Light by reading Helen Custer’s A Candle.

Each congregation member was invited to carry a candle to the altar.
