Blues Luk so at home

-

enough. Rotherham – who have suffered from injury problems – have lost all SEVEN of their away games this season.

Discussing their horror run, Warne said: “You’ll have to ask the players if it’s a mental hurdle but it’s not for me. I don’t think we got outplayed, we got outmuscled. With so many out, it’s a struggle.”

It had been an open start but Birmingham caused the first scare, with Che Adams shooting wide.

Monk’s men made up for that miss when Jutkiewicz headed in at the back post from Jota’s corner. Keeper Marek Rodak should have done better as he allowed the ball to squeeze past him at his near post. It was the last thing Rotherham needed, considering how dangerous Blues can be from set-pieces.

And they were quickly reeling from another Jutkiewicz blow, when he pounced after Gary Gardner’s shot had been blocked.

Rotherham battled on but lively Ryan Williams blew a couple of big opportunities.

The visitors also came close just before the break when Ryan Manning unleashed a dipping strike that Lee Camp tipped over.

Birmingham threatened to kill the game off early in the second half as Jacques Maghoma shot over.

But it was all over when Jutkiewicz drilled in after a clever free-kick routine.

Jon Taylor managed a consolation goal though, firing in from Kyle Vassell’s delivery.
