Mystery giant worms were just rock piles

-

THE mystery surrounding a huge worm-like structure spotted on a satellite image more than a decade ago has been solved.

First seen by the Quickbird Two as it travelled over the Canadian wilderness in September 2006, the picture confused many experts.

The photo showed structures emerging from the forest, according to the Science Channel.

Biologist Rob Nelson said: “It really looks like some writhing of white worms. There’s no obvious beginning or end. Just how big are they?”

However, an inspection showed they were massive piles of rock and gravel.
