Wrecked car goes missing after pile-up

-

THIEVES stole a car that had been badly damaged in a three-car pile-up.

The lime green Peugeot 106 had a battered front end and was covered in police tape.

Owner Kelly Smith, who was bruised and shaken after the accident, had been assured by officers it would be safe. But it went missing from the grass verge where she left it on the A291 Canterbury Road near Herne Bay, Kent.

Kelly, 42, said: “I just can’t believe somebody would do that. There was police tape around it.

“I think it would have been written off, but my car insurance can’t do that now.”
