Raheem’s mum still has social housing despite €2.5m mansion

She stays on in area with massive waiting list

- BY DAN WARBURTON

The Sunday Mirror can reveal Nadine Clarke kept hold of the housing association property even though needy families in the area face a wait of up to 27 years for a roof over their heads.

Nadine, 44, is now said to divide her time between the property on the estate where Manchester City ace Raheem grew up and her luxurious home 22 miles away in a leafy village.

There is no suggestion Nadine is breaking the law.

But it means families urgently waiting for social housing are being deprived when she has another privately owned home.

Raheem, 23, faced public derision after he showed off his mum’s crystal-encrusted bath- room on social media after England crashed out of the 2016 Euros to Iceland.

The ex-liverpool star, who takes home €170,000 a week, has also told how he used to help Nadine clean hotel toilets.

He bought her the 10-bed property near Slough, Berks, after landing his €44million move to City.

She and Raheem are listed on the Land Registry as its owners.

But Nadine is also still on the electoral roll at her housing association home in the northwest London borough of Brent, near Wembley.

When the Sunday Mirror visited the property a man said Nadine split her time between both places.

Describing himself as a relative of Sterling, he told us: “She is either here or in the place in Slough.” More than 20,000 people are currently registered on a waiting list for a council house in Brent. Nadine refused to speak when approached at her mansion and a spokesman for Raheem refused to comment. The company that owns the Brent property, Catalyst Housing Ltd, also declined to talk to us. A source said: “You would think Nadine might have given the Brent place up since so many people are waiting for a place to live.” dan.warburton@ mirror.co.uk
