Man grasses up own wife for flytipping

- BY STEPHEN HAYWARD

A MAN shopped his wife after she was pictured as a wanted fly-tipper.

He called a council hotline to name her after seeing footage on Youtube from a mobile CCTV camera installed at a littering hotspot.

The woman was among 15 litterbugs hit with fixed penalty tickets of £150 after they were filmed in Barking, East London.

Councillor Syed Ghani said: “Fly-tipping cost this council upwards of £380,000 last year.

“We need to get tough on those flouting the law and hope anyone watching the CCTV appeal, who recognises someone featured, will get in touch.”

Town hall chiefs behind the campaign would not comment on the couple’s marital situation.
