Talk TV Ali rumbles to HERO OF THE WEEK probe crime in True Detective

The air date for the third season of HBO’S

was finally announced this week and we can’t wait to see what it has in store. Taking place in three time periods deep in the Ozarks, this season stars Mahershala Ali, right, in the lead role as Detective Wayne Hays, from Arkansas, as well as Scoot Mcnairy, Stephen Dorff as Roland West, an Arkansas State Investigator, Carmen Ejogo as Amelia Reardon, an Arkansas teacher with a connection to two missing children in 1980, and Mamie Gummer. It is being penned by Nic Pizolatto, the creator/ executive producer of the series, alongside Deadwood creator David Milch.

The new season will debut on HBO on January 13 at 9pm. The death of hunky Joe Tate was blasted by fans online shortly after the episode aired on Thursday night – and it’s easy to see why. Cain Dingle violently punched him, causing him to fall and whack his head on a rock. And even though his finger twitched while pulling off in the car, actor Ned Porteous said there’s more to the story to come. He told Digital Spy: “That blow to the head on the rock didn’t kill him.”
