Madrid expect Bale to return

-

GARETH BALE looks certain to miss Tuesday’s clash with Ireland as Real Madrid expect him back in Spain tomorrow.

The Real Madrid star missed Wales’ heavy defeat to Spain on Thursday with a groin injury.

Dragons boss Ryan Giggs is planning to give the world star one more fitness test at Wales’ training base today but reports in Spain last night claimed Bale will be returning to his club rather than facing Ireland in Dublin.

Giggs said: “If Gareth is not available we have to prepare to see what team we can play.”

Wales are also sweating on injured pair Ethan Ampadu – who bossed the Irish midfield in last month’s 4-1 win over the Boys in Green – and Chris Mepham.

Gwion Edwards and Kieron Freeman have joined the squad. IRELAND v WALES BUILD-UP: SEE PULLOUT
