MARK ROBINS praised the contributions of Coventry’s Jordy Hiwula and scorer Conor Chaplin.
Hiwula twice went close and Chaplin, 5ft 6in, netted the winner with eight minutes remaining.
Robins said: “I thought there were some good performances. Jordy was instrumental in the good things that we did and Conor kept plugging away, he was busy and got a great goal at the end.
“He got in the box and he showed you don’t have to be 6ft 3in to score a header.”
Both goalkeepers stood out. Coventry’s Lee Burge completed a hat-trick of saves to frustrate Craig Mackail-smith and Ryan Allsop denied Hiwula, twice before being beaten.
Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth was disappointed his normally strong defensive unit let in Chaplin’s winning header.
He said: “It’s tough to take. We are absolutely gutted, my dressing room is absolutely devastated.
“I’m just frustrated with the goal we conceded to be honest. I thought a 0-0 would have been a fair result, I really do.
“There was one moment where probably the smallest player on the pitch scores a header.
“It’s a kick in the teeth. We’ve got to defend better, we limited them to shots from distance.
“We can’t let that happen with the goal.”
