JOHN SHERIDAN was left furious with his players after Carlisle slipped to a fourth successive home defeat to Morecambe.

A-jay Leitch-smith and Vadaine Oliver were on target for the Shrimps, but the home form is a clear concern for Sheridan.

He said: “We keep shooting ourselves in the foot. It’s just not good enough.

“None of the players can give me an answer as to why they put in that performance today and the fans have every right to grumble.”

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley added: “We were a bit lucky to come in at half-time with a clean sheet, but in the second half our game management was very good. We don’t usually get much here. It’s a tough place to play.”
