TD blast over Pulse ‘failure’ in Garda sites

- BY ARTHUR VELKER

A FIANNA Fail TD has slammed the Government over the number of Garda stations that do not have access to Pulse.

Deputy Jim O’callaghan claimed the fact almost 100 sites aren’t connected to the internet is a travesty for which the State should be liable.

He said: “I received a letter from Minister Flanagan in which he indicated there are 90 stations without internet.

“How can it be in this day and age An Garda Siochana could be expected to police without basic access to ICT or Pulse? It is a serious failure of Government.”

The system, introduced in 1999, is a computer database used to record crimes.
